Cash Deposit Fees
Bank charges will be added to rental fees should a debit order bounce or a tenant pays cash through a bank.
A preferred method of payment is through debit orders to pay rent as a safer, cheaper and much easier option.
Costs to be aware of
Over and above your rent, there are other monthly costs that you will be responsible for.
- Both Electricity and water supplied through a pre-paid meter at your cost and includes the fixed charges billed by the City of Cape Town.
- You will also be liable for the cost the City of Cape Town charges to collect your refuse
- As a tenant you are also responsible for the cost of maintenance inside your unit, including light bulbs, door handles, locks, toilet seats and broken flushing mechanisms (all detailed in the lease and the house rules).
If a tenant experiences any financial constraint and defaults payments, the best option would be to contact us immediately through the Call Centre to log the case and discuss a payment solution. In some circumstances we can reach an agreement on payment. If you do not pay your rental as stipulated in the signed lease agreement, it would be considered failure to pay and therefore will be handed over to our debt collectors. Additional charges may incur.
Tenants who ignore requests to pay will be timeously notified by our Debt collectors department. Should the failure to pay rental fees after necessary notifications, the process for blacklisting will go forward.
These apartments are intended for rental as signed and confirmed by your lease agreement. All costs are covered from rental collection. Any tenant who is unable to pay their rent or to keep up with their payment arrangements will eventually be notified to leave the apartment. If they do not leave, we will have to ask the Court for an eviction order. To avoid this from occurring, tenants are encouraged to keep the communication channels open with us and to honour the agreements they make with us.
